BdREN signs contract with GIZ to host DS2S micro-credential courses
Dhaka, 24 September 2026 — The Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) Trust has signed a service contract with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to migrate and implement the micro-credential courses of the Digital Skills to Succeed in Asia (DS2S) project on BdREN's digital learning platform.
The contract was signed on 23 September 2026 at the GIZ office in Dhaka by Mohammad Tawrit, Chief Executive Officer of BdREN, and Rumana Akther, Education and Youths Advisor of the DS2S project.
Under the agreement, BdREN will deploy around ten micro-credential courses on its learning management system, configure and secure the platform, and organise a national launching event for faculty members from universities across Bangladesh, alongside a promotional campaign.
DS2S is a regional project of Bangladesh, India, Viet Nam and Germany, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It works to strengthen the employment-oriented digital skills of students, graduates and young professionals through quality-assured micro-credentials developed with partner universities.
