BdREN Connects with Researchers at SPICSCON 2026
Natore, 14 August 2026 — Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) participated as a sponsor of the IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Information, Communication and Systems 2026 (SPICSCON 2026), held on 13–14 August 2026 at Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET), Qadirabad, Natore.
The conference was jointly organised by the IEEE Bangladesh Section and the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Bangladesh Chapter, and hosted by BAUET in hybrid mode. Now in its fifth edition, SPICSCON brings together academics, researchers and research scholars working in signal processing, information technology, communications and systems applications to share research outcomes and exchange ideas on both theoretical and applied problems. The programme featured keynote and invited talks by eminent researchers, technical paper sessions, project showcasing and tutorials. Accepted papers will be considered for inclusion in IEEE Xplore.
As part of its sponsorship benefits, BdREN set up an exhibition stall at the conference venue, where representatives of the network engaged with faculty members, researchers and students throughout the two-day event. The stall showcased BdREN's wide array of services for the country's higher education and research community, including high-capacity national and international bandwidth connectivity, the licensed e-resource consortium covering leading international publishers and databases, eduroam global roaming access, video conferencing and virtual classroom facilities, data centre and cloud services including virtual machines and web hosting, identity federation through TIGERfed, the Orbit event management platform, and capacity development initiatives for faculty members and librarians.
Visitors to the stall showed particular interest in BdREN's research support services and in the ongoing faculty development activities being carried out across member universities. BdREN officials briefed participants on how institutions can avail themselves of these services and answered queries on connectivity options, e-resource access and collaborative research tools.
BdREN's association with SPICSCON reflects its continued commitment to supporting research and academic excellence in Bangladesh. By partnering with conferences of this nature, BdREN aims to strengthen its engagement with the research community, promote greater use of the national research and education network, and encourage collaboration among universities and research institutions across the country.
