BdREN Partners UITS for JSTOR Access
The Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) and the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic research and facilitate access to e-journal resources for students, faculty members, and researchers.
The agreement, signed on 19 May 2026, establishes a collaborative framework through which BdREN will support UITS in accessing renowned digital libraries, including JSTOR, by coordinating subscription processes, licensing, and technical facilitation. This initiative aims to enhance research capabilities and promote knowledge dissemination across the university.
Under the MoU, BdREN will act as a facilitator in negotiating and enabling access to electronic scholarly resources, while UITS will ensure proper utilization and compliance with licensing agreements. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing higher education and research standards in Bangladesh.
On behalf of UITS, Vice Chancellor Professor Md. Abu Hasan Bhuiyan, Treasurer Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, and Registrar Mohammad Kamrul Hasan were present at the signing ceremony. Representing BdREN were Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Tawrit, Chief Marketing Officer Ekhlas Uddin Ahmed, and Assistant Manager (Knowledge & Research) Ahmed Al Hossain.
