BdREN Mourns the Loss of Its Former Chairperson, Prof. Dr. Kazi Shahidullah
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Prof. Dr. Kazi Shahidullah, former Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and ex-Chairperson of BdREN, who left us today (Wednesday) afternoon suffering from deadly cancer.
Prof. Dr. Shahidullah was a beacon of integrity, honesty, and wisdom. His contributions to the development and successes of BdREN during his reign of incumbency for a period of more than 4 years are immeasurable. He served BdREN with unwavering commitment, guiding it to greater heights before stepping down in August-2024 due to illness. His leadership, vision, and determination have left an unforgettable mark on the education and research landscape in Bangladesh.
Despite his long battle with chronic illness, his spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to inspire all who worked alongside him. Prof. Shahidullah was a true statue of righteousness, and his legacy of service to education will live on in the hearts and minds of many.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of working with him. May his soul rest in peace.
