Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited and Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic partnership on January 22, 2024 at the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) office in Agargaon, Dhaka. Allen Liu, Vice President, Huawei South Asia, Managing Director, Huawei South Asia Enterprise Business Group, and Mohammad Tawrit, Chief Executive Officer, BdREN, signed the MoU on behalf the respective parties.

The MoU will forge a strategic partnership with BdREN, accentuating Huawei's commitment to advancing smart education initiatives, including smart campuses and classrooms, establishing cooperative relationships to innovate together using cutting-edge technologies, including HPC, Cloud, AI, etc. Huawei will provide high-speed internet/data connectivity hardware and other associated application software to the universities and research institutes in collaboration with BdREN.
