Dhaka, 21 September 2026: The Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) and Islamic Arabic University (IAU) have signed an agreement to provide advanced digital infrastructure and connectivity services, supporting the university's efforts to modernize and secure its information technology infrastructure.

Under the agreement, BdREN will provide IAU with a comprehensive range of services, including 300 Mbps IP-Transit Internet connectivity, five Virtual Private Server (VPS) instances, institutional email hosting, and DNS hosting with backup and monitoring facilities.

The agreement also includes Global Research and Education Network (GREN) connectivity through BdREN's dedicated high-speed link connected to the Trans-Eurasia Information Network (TEIN), along with eduroam and federated services.

As part of the collaboration, BdREN will host IAU's institutional email services on its own domain, iau.edu.bd, using dedicated mail server and mail gateway infrastructure with backup facilities. The agreement further provides for continuous network support and service monitoring to ensure reliable digital connectivity.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Islamic Arabic University by Professor Dr. A. K. Md. Nurul Islam, Registrar (Additional Charge), and on behalf of BdREN by Mohammad Tawrit, Chief Executive Officer. Representatives from both institutions attended as witnesses.

Through this partnership, BdREN and Islamic Arabic University aim to facilitate a more secure, reliable, and research-oriented digital environment, strengthening the university's access to connectivity and technology-enabled services.

The agreement will take effect on 1 October 2026 and remain valid for a period of three years, subject to the terms and conditions agreed upon by both parties.
