Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) is set to mark a significant milestone as it sponsors the upcoming APAN56 event, scheduled to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. As a National Research and Education Network (NREN) partner, BdREN's sponsorship reflects its commitment to fostering collaborative networking within the region.

APAN56, a flagship conference of the Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) community, a significant event that will unite the brightest minds from the Asia-Pacific research and education community. For five days, from the 21st to the 25th of August 2023, in Colombo will serve as the perfect background for attendees to address common challenges and opportunities in advanced networking.

By sponsoring APAN56, BdREN aims to enhance its engagement with its host Lanka Education and Research Network (LEARN) and also in the global research and education network arena. The event's theme resonates with BdREN's mission to create a RESEARCHERS’ HEAVEN for higher education and research institutions through advanced computing, networking and IT solutions.

This sponsorship reinforces BdREN's role as a catalyst for technological advancement in Bangladesh and the broader Asia-Pacific region. It underscores BdREN's dedication to supporting the growth of digital initiatives, research collaboration, and academic innovation.

In addition to the official sponsorship as “NREN partners” BdREN is actively involved with the event with four (4) onsite participants and six (6) online participants, which will also in a way help the local REN in getting the event rolling. Moreover, BdREN has decided to partially sponsor the travel cost of one of the faculty members who is participating the auspicious event onsite as a distinguished “Fellow”. 

BdREN hopes that this initiative of “NREN partnership” will create a positive vibe in the other NRENs who will come up with their sponsorship in the future in helping out the host NREN in organizing the event with ease and comfort.
